When I was 11, I was taken to look round my new school, and I was filled with dread. Everyone looked so eerily well behaved in their pristine uniforms, and I cried when I got home because I knew I wouldn't be allowed to climb trees anymore.
I didn't understand why there had been constant pressure to do well at school, with extra lessons instead of a favourite TV programme, if it meant I had to go to such a restrictive environment. My sense of dread was accurately fulfilled for 5 extremely long years. I never fitted into anyone's idea of perfection, with no outlet for creativity or expression. All my mini (failed) attempts to rebel were finally rewarded when I wore a round neck jumper instead of a V neck for the final school photo!
I've since avoided any hint of perfection, and pressure to conform means I'm best suited to work for myself ... Everyone has to follow rules to co-exist, but you have to allow yourself to follow your own dreams, don't be pushed into someone else's idea of a perfect life.
I knew someone who made a Stepford Wife look like a mess. She went to bed in her makeup, and got up first to re-apply the thick mask, so her partner only saw her looking 'perfect'. She pushed herself through hours of torture at the gym, while her partner remained overweight ... and he continued to flirt with women of any size. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't make her partner become perfect for her.
She spent so much time with someone totally unsuitable, covering up the cracks acting as though everything was perfect, that she almost lost the chance to have a baby which she craved, and he didn't. I'm pleased I held open a window for her to see there was the right man waiting for her, and now she's very happy - with no pressure.
I think trying to be perfect is an illusion, because it's always to fit someone else's perception. Be happy with yourself, for yourself, exactly as you are - and leave the house without wearing makeup!
A Z Point session allows you to lose all the stress and pressure in your life, and once you experience the deep level of relaxation, you can find solutions come to you easily ... and they're true to the real you.
