Words have the power to hurt you more deeply than any physical wound. You can't see them - but the scars are hidden in your unconscious, and they appear every time your thoughts today trigger them.
I know that constant criticism as I grew up made everything I attempted a losing battle, and I gave up on many of my dreams. Since using ZPoint, I've made peace with the past, and I've tried many things I wouldn't have before. I know it's only my own judgement that matters (and I'm a lot kinder to myself, these days!).
But I am very aware of words, and I make a conscious effort to avoid hearing anything that will upset my balance. If you're sensitive, I also advise you to never listen to the news, because the negative impact of traumatic events drags your energy down. Then you have to put a lot more effort into feeling positive again.
I choose when I'm feeling good to find charities that I donate to regularly, and join in with petitions that collectively change government decisions. This is a constructive way to deal with bad news, because you can make a difference, instead of getting upset and feeling hopeless. You can always do some small thing to improve the world - but you'll always be more effective when you can choose how to help when you're feeling calm.
We're sold to constantly online, and I click straight past the forceful, dynamic breed of salesmen, because their words instantly turn me off. So, when I find people who are in the alternative, healing businesses using the same words I'm very surprised, and disappointed. I don't see why anyone with a basic command of English (and access to a thesaurus) can't find an alternative to a "killer" deal, for example.
That word only means to murder someone - and death is never a good emotion for anyone. This is just one example, but I think we should all be more conscious of the words we choose, and don't allow words like "killer" to slip past, and become normal.
I hope the more aware you become, the more you will notice how feeling peaceful is a far better choice than activating stress with critical and violent words.
