Being in the middle of a challenge can mean you just make it from day to day, without taking time out for yourself. The more time you spend connecting to what really matters to you, the easier it will be to get through to the other side, and find the life that makes you truly happy.
We are not here to merely exist, or just tread water!
When I was under the weight of never ending house renovations I didn't have time to think about my soul. All I thought about was getting through each day until I could escape all the hassle and stress - but there was no end in sight.
Nothing changed until I changed where I placed my thoughts.
As soon as I focused on where I was escaping to, and felt the excitement of living by the sea, collecting evidence every day of how beautiful it would be - I changed. Finally acknowledging my dream, and feeling it was actually possible to feel this good, made my dream a reality.
The minute I walked into my new home I was overwhelmed with finding somewhere with so much beauty. I overflowed with love for the sea, the sand, the sky, even the seagulls - and my soul came alive. I'd been so out of touch that I really appreciate how different I feel now.
I look out of the kitchen window or the french doors, and when I see a hint of blue in the sky I start singing "I'm in heaven!" to the tune of Cheek to Cheek - and I'm not a fan of musicals! I've never felt this amount of pure joy before - just from the pleasure nature gives me for free.
I'd been disconnected from my soul for too long, and that had shut down my deepest desires and dreams. When you listen to what you really want, allow your soul to be your guide, and take that first step - you can create it.
I'm constantly full of gratitude for every small thing every day. I know what I feel in my soul is worth more than anything I could hold in my hand. Choose to waken your soul, and fill yourself with love.
