This is not about politics, it's about taking responsibility for yourself to choose a life filled with peace and love.
After an election campaign where physical violence was encouraged, resulting in hatred and division, now we see the new president of America declaring that the protests against him are the fault of the media.
Firstly, to see change you have to accept your thoughts, words, and actions make a difference. Become conscious of each thought, and turn it away from hate and anger. These emotions are caused by fear. I was afraid of a future where violence was promoted. I had to focus on feeling love to detach myself.
Love is the only way to eradicate hate.
These photos show how I spent my time - loving the beautiful sea and sky that nature has blessed us with. When I get lost in nature, all fears and concerns fade away.
I love how the view changes minute by minute, there is always something new to absorb my attention.
From beautifully shaped clouds in a blue sky, with sun sparkling on the sea, the afternoon darkened bringing rain. I saw the end of a rainbow, and waited patiently for the rest to reveal itself as I shivered in the cold, but it remained hidden behind the clouds. When I edited the photo, I found the rainbow was bent - not the beautiful arc I'd been expecting.
It proves that when we remain open and aware we discover far more than we could imagine. The world is full of mysteries and beauty to explore.
Don't waste a second worrying about the future. These are just snapshots of one day. When you focus on finding love and beauty each and every day you're creating a life filled with peace. This is how you change your life to be happy - no matter what is happening elsewhere.
Fill your time with doing what you love. Search out evidence of beauty in your surroundings. Focus on feeling good. When you feel good you can feel love for yourself, then for others.
Love changes everything - choose love, and choose peace.
“To replace the old paradigm of war with a new paradigm of waging peace, we must be pioneers who can push the boundaries of human understanding.
We must be doctors who can cure the virus of violence.
We must be soldiers of peace who can do more than preach to the choir.
And we must be artists who will make the world our masterpiece.”
“If you want to end the war then instead of sending guns, send books.
Instead of sending tanks, send pens.
Instead of sending soldiers, send teachers.”
~ Malala Yousafzai (17 year-old Noble Peace Laureate)
“Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time; the need for mankind to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence.
Mankind must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation.
The foundation of such a method is love.”
~ Martin Luther King
