If you quite like the way you look in a dress, but you hate the way you look in jeans - then you need to remove the layers to discover why you can't accept yourself, exactly as you are.
Aging can be challenging as you see your face and body changing, but you can't stop it happening, What you can control is how you feel inside - and this is the best way to age gracefully, because happiness and contentment always shines out - no matter what your age.
If you find yourself looking at old photos of when you were young, vibrantly fit and healthy, and wishing you still looked the same, then you're telling your present body that it isn't good enough.
If you compare yourself to others, then you're looking for ways to feel dissatisfied with yourself.
There's no such thing as perfection, and nobody looks good when they try to become a clone of someone else.
But - how do you become happy with all of you, and love everything about yourself, unconditionally?
Firstly, you stop buying magazines filled with Photoshopped young girls, who are made up and styled for hours by professionals - yet they still feel so insecure their faces are frozen rigid with botox and fillers. These are the same magazines that highlight the slightest hint of extra flesh, or turn a shadow into cellulite. Do not even look at them when they're free in your doctor's waiting room!
If your friends start criticizing someone else, even if it's a film star you'll never meet, change the conversation, or move away. Judging anyone detaches you from who they really are - someone with real feelings - exactly the same as you.
Everybody has the same concerns, fears, and challenges through their lives, and the more you connect to that, and forget about the exterior, superficial surface, the more you will know what is really important. Letting go of the competitive atmosphere promoted by the media is really freeing, and it's your first step on the way to true happiness.
