This is the time of year when you're bombarded with messages that you have to do a million different things to become "perfect". Never aim for perfection - it doesn't exist. I'm tired of seeing the covers of books and DVDs with bulging biceps, and veins about to burst through skin, as an incentive to be "fit and healthy". There is nothing healthy or natural about these images - they're the choice of a very few individuals who take losing weight to extreme levels. You won't look like them in the promised 7 days!
Don't set yourself up for failure, because that only makes you feel worse about yourself, so you return to your comfortable habits. If you do feel you need to lose weight, you will already be feeling guilty for the extra food you've eaten over the holidays. Guilt is never a good place to start a resolution.
I believe in building lasting change through replacing old limiting beliefs (which you're often unaware of) with new habits. Once you let go of the negative limitations, you're then free to cultivate what you really do want - consciously.
When you're clear about your goal, and you will achieve clarity through the relaxing ZPoint Process, you can then create steps towards it. By taking this peaceful, relaxed approach you remove the pressure surrounding your desire.
The biggest reason why New Year's Resolutions fail - is because of pressure. It doesn't feel good - so don't do it to yourself! You can only stick with what feels good. Struggling to let go of what has become a comfortable habit becomes a battle, and beating yourself up when you slip backwards just makes it an impossible task.
Everything you do starts and ends with loving yourself. If you want to change it's because you know it will benefit you. You care enough about yourself to want to be the best you can be. Now treat yourself kindly and gently. Habits don't start overnight, you've collected them over many years, so be patient and tolerant.
By taking each goal, one at a time, through the ZPoint Process, you can collect all the emotions that surround it. How you don't want to change, how you don't want to deprive yourself of your comfort, how angry you feel that you've wasted so much time before you finally faced it . . .
Be completely honest with yourself, and keep notes of all the feelings that arise when you think about your goal. Your feelings and thoughts are private. Only you know what you place into the Clearing Circle - so don't hold anything back.
As you relax more deeply with each round of ZPoint, your unconscious releases more feelings and memories. Add each of them as they come up - don't force this Process, and definitely don't pressure yourself to remember things. There is no time limit on change - it's always in progress.
The whole purpose of life is to make it more enjoyable, and when you feel relaxed and at peace you know what you are aiming for. I recommend that you make ZPoint your new habit for 3 weeks, and you will definitely feel the difference. Especially when you experience it at night - you will sleep so much better after you've released all your stress.
I look forward to hearing how you've enjoyed changing your life - without the pressure of resolutions. I know feeling good every day is a much happier prospect!
"The changes in our life must come from the impossibility to live otherwise than according to the demands of our conscience not from our mental resolution to try a new form of life." ~ Leo Tolstoy
"No one's ever achieved financial fitness with a January resolution that's abandoned by February." ~ Suze Orman
"Sometimes we know the best thing to do, but fail to do it. New year's resolutions are often like that. We make resolutions because we know it would be better for us to lose weight, or get fit, or spend more time with our children. The problem is that a resolution is generally easier to break than it is to keep." ~ Peter Singer
“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson.
